The primary needs of the St. Petersburg Mission fall in the categories of:

  • student support-the Biblical Theological Seminary
  • translation and publishing
  • church planting support

Student Support:

If you would like to support our work in Eurasia, here's how you can do so:

A gift of $50 per month provides the means for a pastor, who might be from a very isolated outpost in Eurasia, to attend our twice-yearly Intensive Course, covering his room and board at seminary.

A gift of $200 per month provides for all of SRS's expenses for two new pastors to be enrolled in the Intensive Course. This includes travel, a living stipend while attending seminary, books, room and board.

A gift of $600 per month provides for 2 student enrollments and includes paying their pro rata cost of the seminary's overhead. This would include facility rental, utiliities, and salaries of our Russian and American staff members.

Translation and Publishing:

This is one of our primary missions at SRS…to translate Reformed Christian literature into Russian. For some time, we have wished to be able to translate and publish Doug Wilson’s series of books on the family. This is particularly important for Russians since so many families are not being properly led by a strong father figure.

Also, at the top of our list of priorities in this area are 80 Psalms for Singing, James Jordan’s Primeval Saints, and Jeff Meyers’ books, The Lord’s Service and A Table in the Mist: Ecclesiastes through New Eyes, and, finally, Peter Leithart’s book, A Son to Me, a commentary on 1st and 2d Samuel. All of these works could be translated and published for $12,000 or about $4 US per book. We can think of nothing that would have more long term impact on our work than having these publications in the Russian language.

Church Support:

We are now providing reformed education and mentoring to 13 churches throughout Eurasia. A number of these churches have been planted by graduates of our reformed theological seminary in St. Petersburg. Others are currently enrolled in our twice-yearly 2 week Intensive Courses and are actively involved in our distance learning program. Please go to the “Church Planting” tab; you can click on the individual church names to meet our pastors and their congregations.

These godly men are laboring in small churches with limited ability to support their pastors through tithing. A gift of $600/month allows the pastor to work full time with his flock and eliminates the need for him to seek full time employment in the local economy.
